Residents, Owners and Agents,
Following the recent horrific and tragic event at Grenfell Towers in London, there have been a few inquiries asking if Aspire Apartments has the same or similar cladding. I thought it prudent to send a blanket email out to everyone.
Please allow me to assure interested parties that Aspire Apartments was built with 100% Australian compliant materials, and 100% NSW compliant fire safety design. The building is a concrete structure, with some paneling by way of painted fibre board on parts on the building. Fibre board is essentially compressed concrete and is a not combustible material.
Compulsory monthly, six monthly and annual inspections take place. Last recent annual inspection saw access to ALL apartments and we passed with the exception of 1 smoke alarm which has since been replaced. 100% access and compliance such as this for an annual inspection is very rare. We made the decision prior to this year’s annual inspection to replace smoke alarm batteries at the Owners Corporation cost ($750), to ensure that all alarms have charged batteries and get replaced yearly.
I have placed the Owners Corporation manual up onto the “Owner’s Manuals” page on our website for reference. The page can be accessed: HERE, and the document is named “Aspire Body Corporate Manual – Final”. This manual was supplied to the Owners Corporation by the builder (Hindmarsh Constructions) upon building handover. It contains all required certifications and certificates relating to fire compliance, the materials used and their Australian Standards certification detail. The direct link to the document can be found here: HERE.
Rest assured, Aspire Apartments is a very safe and compliant building.
Strata Committee.
